For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a broken toilet which the landlord has not fixed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>being verbally or physically abused<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not being paid minimum wage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>being&nbsp;discriminated against<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>any type of accident you have been involved with<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Types of Evidence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full\"><div class=\"inner-wrap\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jfcy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-7.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jfcy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-7.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11704\"><\/a><\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Various types of evidence exist and can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>identifying notes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pictures and videos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>witnesses and their statements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>medical reports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>police reports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>estimates (e.g. clothing or furniture repair costs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Identifying Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Right after the incident, write down&nbsp;<strong>all the details<\/strong>&nbsp;you can remember, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>date and time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>location<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>all details of what happened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>witnesses names and contact information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>appearance of the person \u2013 height, hair style, weight, markings on their body, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Witnesses\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Get the name, address, phone number, and email address of anyone who saw the incident.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask any witnesses to write down what they saw right away so they don\u2019t forget the details (make sure they date and sign their notes)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make a copy of the witnesses\u2019 notes. Ask the witness to keep one copy, and keep one for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Medical Records<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If injured (even a scrape or bruise), have a doctor examine the injuries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tell the doctor what happened (all injuries) and that&nbsp;you need a copy of his or her notes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask the doctor to photocopy the notes taken&nbsp;during the appointment so they can be used in the case<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep receipts if medical service was paid for<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If injuries don\u2019t get better or get worse, keep&nbsp;going back to the doctor to document them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Pictures and Videos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is best to use a camera that puts a date on the images<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It could be a picture or recording of the injury caused to the body&nbsp;or property, or the place where the problem happened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take pictures from a few different angles of the&nbsp;area where the problem happened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take pictures of all the injuries (it is best if the person taking the&nbsp;pictures can come to court \/ tribunal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask any nearby stores or businesses if they have a security&nbsp;camera (do this quickly because some are destroyed within 24&nbsp;hours). Write a dated, signed letter asking them to save the tapes&nbsp;and explain why.
