and being study participants on justice related research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Our current on-going involvement includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accesstoborderlesseducation.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Borderless Access to Education<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BATE is a multi-year, collaborative project of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jfcy.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Justice for Children and Youth (JFCY)<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/casacentre.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Childhood Arrivals Support and Advocacy Centre of Canada (CASA)<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.s4collective.org\/\">Sanctuary Students Solidarity and Support Collective (S4)<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackcreekyouthinitiative.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Black Creek Youth Initiative (BCYI)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working to remove barriers and create equitable educational opportunities for students.\u00a0By shifting the underlying attitude of exclusion of\u00a0\u00a0\u201cnon-citizens\u201d to an inclusion mindset and promoting the right to education for all children and youth who have made a home in Ontario, we expect to see changes in both policy and practise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/otf.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ontario Trillium Foundation<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/otf.ca\/our-grants\/youth-opportunities-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Youth Opportunities Fund<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Inclusive Justice Collaborative, Partner \/ Member<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Focus is on transforming how the youth justice system responds to Black and racialized youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project will engage youth, caregivers, service providers, and systems leaders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Led by <a href=\"https:\/\/springboardservices.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Springboard<\/a> and grounded in community partnerships made up of grassroots and institutional partners, youth advisors, and subject matter experts across the province.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In year one of five; funded by the  <a href=\"https:\/\/otf.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ontario Trillium Foundation<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/otf.ca\/our-grants\/youth-opportunities-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Youth Opportunities Fund<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jfcy.org\/en\/intellectual-disabilities-in-the-youth-criminal-justice-system\/\">Intellectual Disabilities in the Youth Criminal Justice System<\/a>, Community Partner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An investigation on the lived experience of young people with intellectual disabilities in the criminal justice system and the extent to<br>which their rights are appropriately protected and advanced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research includes studying the extent to which justice system professionals (defence lawyers, crown attorneys, probation officers, etc.)<br>are aware of intellectual disabilities, and the extent to which they do, or are able, to address those concerns as part of the underlying issues that bring young people into contact with the youth criminal justice system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a community partner JFCY assists in many ways; currently in setting up opportunities to present the research findings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Researchers: Professor Dr. Daniella Bendo, King\u2019s University, and Professor Dr. Christine Goodwin-De Faria, Trent University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Border(ing) Practices: Systemic Racism, Immigration &amp;
